Contador de Mus — privacy policy

last updated: 2026-10-18

in short: Contador de Mus does not collect, send or share personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

controller: Raúl Bustamante, an independent software engineer based in Castelldefels, Barcelona (Spain). Contact: raulzero.01@gmail.com.

your data: Matches (the one in progress and the history), pair names and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's local storage (MMKV). They are not sent to any server or cloud, and I have no access to them. Like the rest of your apps' data, they may be included in your phone's backups, which you control: iCloud or your computer on an iPhone; your Google account's backup on Android, if you have it turned on.

deleting it: Settings → Clear history removes every saved match, and each one can also be removed from its own screen (Delete match). Uninstalling the app deletes everything it keeps on the phone; if you have a backup, the system may bring it back when you reinstall it.

updates: The app works without internet. When there is a connection, on launch it asks EAS Update — the Expo service I publish updates with — whether there is a new version; if there is, it downloads it to use the next time you open the app. That request carries only technical data, such as the platform (iOS or Android), the app's native version (runtime version), the release channel, which update is installed (and which one failed, if any) and a random identifier (EAS-Client-ID) created the first time the app checks for updates. That identifier is not tied to your name, your Apple ID or Google account, or your phone; it is kept in the app's private preferences and goes away when you uninstall the app, unless the system restores the app from a backup. If the app failed to start last time, the request also includes the technical error message, so a broken update can be rolled back. Your matches, names and settings are not part of it.

expo: As with any internet connection, Expo's servers see the IP address the request comes from. Expo may use these requests to give me aggregate update statistics (for example, how many installs have downloaded a version); I don't use them to identify or follow anyone. How Expo handles them is covered by its privacy policy.

permissions: The app does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and it sends no notifications. On Android it only declares permissions the system grants without asking you: internet and network state, to check for updates, and vibration.

your rights: Since I hold no data about you, there is nothing for me to access, correct or delete on your behalf: it is all on your device, under your control. For any question, write to raulzero.01@gmail.com.

the website: This policy covers the app only; the raulbustamante.dev website has its own privacy notice.

changes: If any of this changes, I'll update this page and the date above.
